Meet Dr. Kevin McGarry

Dr. Kevin McGarry is a sales executive with a leading financial services company and an industry thought leader who helps companies realize new levels of performance by understanding, developing and recruiting effective leaders. He has a 30-year record of success and expertise in building and leading high-performing teams. Kevin has been a keynote presenter on topics ranging from leadership effectiveness to income planning and healthcare, retirement costs, Social Security planning and the full range of financial planning topics. Kevin has been frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger, Financial Planning Magazine, PLANSPONSOR and InvestmentNews on topics including retirement income planning, Social Security and planning for health care costs in retirement.

Dr. McGarry currently serves as CEO of Leading 360 with the vision of transforming generations of leaders to make a lasting impact on their organizations and all of humankind. Leading 360 is a global leadership organization based in London which provides critical insights into leadership that empowers leaders, organizations and multicultural teams to reach their full potential.

Kevin’s prior experience includes a leadership role as the Vice President of National Sales for Nationwide Mutual Funds. He led the distribution and sales efforts for the Nationwide Funds Group responsible for mutual fund and ETF sales across all channels. Kevin also headed the Nationwide Retirement Institute where he led a sales team that educated financial advisors about the latest retirement income-planning trends. He was a key member of the Retirement Plans leadership team and led the consultant relationship management team, which was dedicated to the acquisition and retention of public-sector retirement plans.

Kevin also served on the Advisory Board for Income Conductor, and is a past Board Member of HealthView Services. Both are Fintech firms which offer advisors tools and techniques for retirement income planning. His leadership and guidance helped manage growth, fine-tune products and go to market strategies.

Prior experience includes Eastern Divisional Sales Manager for the Sub-Advisory Services business at AllianceBernstein. He also spent seven years with MFS Sub-Advisory Services, where he partnered with wholesalers and advisors to create retirement income solutions for clients and business-building strategies for financial professionals.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Kevin also holds a Masters of Arts in Professional Practice in Coaching from Middlesex University in London, England. Kevin recently completed a Doctorate at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Professional Practice in Leadership with a dissertation focused on leading Millennials more effectively.

Kevin resides in Avon, CT with his wife and daughter. He is a past Board Member of the UCONN Club, which raises money for student athletes at the University of Connecticut. In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing golf, traveling, scuba diving and reading.
